Canada: A Wonderful Place To Live And Work

\"Depositphotos_17166437_xs\"It’s not that we don’t feel this way all the time. But it’s weeks like this one that make us especially proud to be a Canadian company. Don’t think for a second that the name of our company – Canadian POS Corporation – is a fluke of any kind. It’s quite important for us to portray our brand as a uniquely Canadian entity. We love working with and serving Canadians. And we can’t imagine conducting our business anywhere else in the world.

For many years, it has been continually proven to us that Canada is a wonderful place to conduct business. From the diverse make up of the business owners that are our clients to the unique services provided by all of them, Canada’s entrepreneurs make what we do that much more enjoyable. Our economy, it seems, is thriving thanks to the tenacity of business owners from all over our country.

Earlier this year, The Huffington Post had to point out just how well our nation is doing. “We’ve been named the second-best country in the world in which to do business,” read the publication’s website, “The 2014 edition of Bloomberg’s annual ranking places Canada above the U.S., with our southern neighbour coming in third.” Don’t think that this ranking came easy. Our spirited entrepreneurs worked hard to make that happen.

Explains The Huffington Post: “Canada has been rocketing up the charts in recent years, placing 12th in 2012, then sixth last year, before overtaking the U.S. in 2014.” Of course, not all of the credit can be given to business owners. Naturally, Canadian consumers were needed to do their part in order to make our country the thriving nation that it is. According to the Bloomberg survey, our prosperity was a team effort.

“Canada jumped from sixth place to second largely because of the receptivity of its consumers, measured by the size of its middle class, household consumption and GDP per capita,” reports The Huffington Post on Bloomberg’s findings. The publication’s site admits that various studies will rank Canada differently when it comes to how successful we are as a nation. But we can’t help but appreciate the view of Forbes from a few years ago.

“Canada ranks No. 1 in our annual look at the Best Countries for Business,” writes Kurt Badenhausen, “While the U.S. is paralyzed by fears of a double-dip recession and Europe struggles with sovereign debt issues, Canada’s economy has held up better than most. The $1.6 trillion economy is the ninth biggest in the world and grew 3.1% last year.”

On About.com, Susan Ward supports this view by writing that there are a number of competitive advantages to doing business in Canada. Among them is the nation’s stability. According to Ward, “Canada has ‘banks you can bank on’. For the fifth consecutive year, the World Economic Forum rates Canada’s banking system as the world’s soundest.” But what else makes our nation a great place to conduct business?

Our highly-skilled work force, strategic location and pleasant lifestyle all help. “Clean, calm and spectacular sums it up,” writes Ward, “It\’s a stellar place to work, live and raise a family.” Canadians POS Corporation would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone an amazing Canada Day tomorrow. Enjoy being part of a nation that continues to thrive in the business world while being a great place to live!
