Sharing Your Plastic-Friendly CNE Experiences

\"PayingAfter posting our last blog about CNE food vendors and their willingness to accept credit cards this year, we received a number of interesting responses from our friends and colleagues. Apparently, the appreciation for plastic acceptance at The Ex this year is fairly widespread. As we put it in our last blog, CNE vendors have certainly stepped up their game. And for those wondering what “the game” is, it’s all about providing payment options.

“It’s what consumers want,” commented Roshan, “People don’t tend to walk around with a lot of cash on them anymore. It’s way more convenient to just pull out your card and buy whatever you want. I brought cash with me to The Ex this year thinking that I wouldn’t be able to use my card. I was glad I got to pay for parking, admission and even my food using my credit card. So yeah, they really did step up their game!”

We’ve often commented on the Canadian POS Corporation Blog that Canada is slowly (maybe quickly) but surely becoming a “cashless society”. It is true that Canadians have been known to be among the world’s leaders when it comes to paying with plastic. Evidently, Canadian shoppers love convenience. And it’s convenience that generally tops the list of reasons why they prefer plastic over paper.

“I love being able to use credit cards, especially at places like the CNE because with so many vendors, my cash runs out quickly and it is inconvenient to have to find an ATM to withdraw more money,” reported Arlene. Interestingly, she not only points out how convenient it is to use credit cards to pay for purchases, but how inconvenient it is to have to withdraw cash. Not to mention, many ATM’s carry pretty hefty service fees.

“I went to take out some cash at the CNE and had to pay like an extra four bucks or something just to get it,” informed Marcus, “It’s so annoying. I mean it’s my money and I’m being charged to use it. I understand that banks have to make their money. And I did use a machine from another bank, but what choice did I have? If I had known that CNE vendors were accepting credit cards this year, I would have brought mine!”

Perhaps, Torontonians will all be better prepared for next year’s CNE extravaganza. Knowing that parking, admission and all of the incredible (and not-so-incredible) eats are available for purchase with credit cards, many visitors to The Ex are bound be that much more satisfied with their experiences. This is something that we’ve touched upon in many a blog, here at Canadian POS Corporation.

In today’s world, it’s a lot more satisfying for customers to be given payment options. This isn’t to say that no one like to use cash. However, with payment options such as credit cards and debit cards growing in prevalence, is there any reason for vendors to not accept them? If you’re thinking about the rates associated with plastic acceptance as a reason to avoid it, you may want to call Canadian POS Corporation right away.

We offer our clients the most affordable rates in our industry!
